The Little Blue Phoenix

Nandos Art Initiative 2015 // THE LITTLE BLUE PHOENIX

Spring is here.

The little blue phoenix resides wihin the skull, surrounded by fresh, blooming peonies. It peers out from within his home with a cheeky look on its face. Who knows what’s on its mind? Perhaps it’s thinking about what it’s going to have for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

All the little phoenix knows is that although it may look different from the other phoenixes in its family, it will always remember who it is. No matter how far it travels, how many new things it discovers and how many new creatures it meets, it will always remember that this was its home. It will always cherish the name etched upon it and remember that this is the very place where it was Reborn.

My submission piece for this year's Nandos Art Initiative. Although I didn't win, I'm glad my work got shortlisted to be showcased amongst the other talented artists that participated. Definitely will try again next year! :)
